Dakota Classic Modified Tour at NODAK Speedway

Kari Gibb/MDN Williston racer, Jason Storbakken, in heat 1 of the IMCA Stock Car division was in first place at the green flag and spun out in turn four of the second lap to finish 10th in the heat, missing the feature.

The history of the Dakota Classic Modified Tour started with a goal by John Gartner building to replicate what was called ‘Speedweeks’ in Florida and has slowly progressed the Dakota version into the largest Modified Tour series in the United States sanctioned by the International Motor Contest Association (IMCA).

The NODAK Speedway had their yearly turn to host the event on Sunday, July 7, and racers from several states showed up to test the Dakota dirt in Minot.

Two divisions had several heats, B Features and finally – at the top of the pyramid – the A Features for bragging rights for a year.
