Shriners preparing for July 4 parade

The Minot Shrine Club is making preparations for its now annual Fourth of July Parade.

The parade will be Saturday, July 4, starting at 10 a.m. at the corner of 25th Street Northwest and Fourth Avenue Northwest. It will travel to Sixth Street Northwest. Parade line up will be in the parking lot of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Entries are being sought for the parade. To enter the parade or get answers to questions, contact Dan Olson, who is in charge of the parade, at 263-7719. Commercial units are asked to make a small donation to the Minot Shrine Club. Non-commercial units are free.

After the parade there will be a number of festivities for the whole family, including food trucks, yard games and live music at Oak Park from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The festivities are free to attend. Races at the Nodak Speedway start at 7 p.m., and gates open at 10 p.m. for the huge, free fireworks display at 10:45 p.m.

The parade and other July 4 festivities are part of the ND250 observances and America’s 250th anniversary observance.
