Firefighters quickly extinguished a vehicle fire before it could endanger nearby buildings in southeast Minot Friday, June 5, according to the Minot Fire Department.

At about 2:25 p.m., Minot Central Dispatch received a report of a vehicle fire in the driveway of a residence in the 1400 block of East Central Avenue. While responding, crews were advised that no occupants were inside the vehicle. The vehicle was reported to be about 5 feet from a detached shed and garage and about 30 feet from the residence.

Upon arrival, Engine 1 found the vehicle engulfed in flames. Crews quickly brought the fire under control and extinguished it, preventing the flames from spreading to the nearby shed and detached garage. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
