Hot Tots topple top-ranked St. Cloud in extra innings

The Minot Hot Tots earned their first win of their series against the Northwoods League Great Plains West leading St. Cloud Rox at home on Friday night, June 5.

Through the first five innings of play, both teams remained scoreless. The Rox took the lead with the first runs of the night in the top of the sixth inning with back to back at bats.

The Hot Tots earned heir first runs of the night in the bottom of the eighth inning when TJ Stottlemyre and Kole Dudding crossed home plate with Dudding’s two run home run over the left field fence.

With each team earning their third run in the ninth innings, the Rox and the Hot Tots took their second game of the series to extra innings.

The Rox went three up and three down in the top of the tenth, allowing the Hot Tots to walk off with Dudding finding his way home after an RBI single by Tyler Arnold into left field.

The Hot Tots closed out their night at home with a 4-3 victory over the leading St. Cloud Rox.

The Hot Tots will host the Rox for another pair of games on Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7, before heading back on the road.

The Hot Tots improved to a record of seven wins five loses on the season.
