Beginning Tuesday, June 9, the intersection of 16th Street and 11th Avenue Northwest will be closed for about three days as part of the ongoing water main replacement project, the City of Minot has announced.

The closure is expected to begin after the morning commute, around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. During the closure, there will be no through traffic on 16th Street Northwest between 20th Avenue Northwest and University Avenue. The designated detour route will direct motorists along 20th Avenue Northwest, Eighth Street Northwest and University Avenue West.

The intersection is expected to reopen Friday morning, June 12.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution in the area, follow posted detour signage and allow additional travel time while the closure is in place.
