Boys Golf: Minot High wins 3-team tiebreaker for Bismarck Invitational title

Nathan Peterson didn’t win medalist honors as the individual champion, but he won the Minot High boys golf team the three-team tiebreaker over both Mandan and Williston on Tuesday, April 21, in the Bismarck Invitational at Riverwood Golf Course. Minot High, Mandan and Williston all finished with teams scores of 315, forcing a tiebreaker to determine the winner. It came down to the lowest score among each team’s fifth-place scorer. The Minot North girls soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to five games and secured another point in the WDA standings with a 1-1 draw against Bismarck High on Tuesday, April 21, at Sanford Sports Complex. Morgan Orth netted the equalizer in the 46th minute off a service into the box from Brengiei Lonning. Lonning’s ball was mishandled by a Bismarck High defender, allowing a scoring chance for Orth. Girls Tennis: Sentinels secure first WDA win of season at Williston

The Minot North girls tennis team won two of its three doubles matches to edge past Williston, 5-4, on Tuesday, April 21, at Davidson Courts for its first conference victory of the season. The Sentinels (2-3 overall, 1-2 WDA) picked up wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles after the teams split their six singles matches. Balas’ double digit strike outs secure shut out

The Velva-Drake/Anamoose Aggies continued their on-field domination with their seventh win and fifth shut out in a row this season with their Monday evening victory over the Bottineau Stars, Apr. 20. The Aggies' were able to keep the Stars largely off the bases thanks in no small part to their sophomore pitcher, Emma Balas.
