Two injured in two-vehicle crash near Williston

WILLISTON – Two Watford City residents were injured on Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 85, six miles south of Williston.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol said Sierra Vaughn, 23, driver of a 1996 Geo Prizm, suffered serious injuries, and passenger, Makayla Pacheco, 19, had minor injuries.

The Highway Patrol said the Geo Prizm was traveling from Watford City to Williston heading north on Highway 85 and a 2001 Peterbilt pump truck pulling a full trailer was also heading north from Alexander to Williston on the highway. The Geo Prizm was traveling at highway speeds when it rear-ended the trailer. Vaughn was flown to Minot and Pacheco was taken to Williston for treatment for injuries suffered in the crash. Paydan Dansie, 33, Williston, driver of the semi, was not injured.
