Crazy Horse family members and author to visit Minot Public Library

Author of the novel “Crazy Horse: The Lakota Warrior’s Life and Legacy” William Matson will be coming to the Minot Public Library alongside family Crazy Horse’s family members, Floyd Clown and Dough War Eagle, on May 10 at 5:30 p.m.

This will be their 115th book signing as they travel through the United States.

The novel was written by using the oral history of Crazy Horse’s family, talking about who killed Custer at the Little Bighorn as well as the vision that Crazy Horse had of Custer’s death that was carved on a rock.

The Crazy Horse family’s oral history had not been told outside the family for over a century. Through the telling of Floyd Clown, who is the son of Crazy Horse’s nephew, Edward Clown, Dough Eagle War Eagle, and Don Red Thunder.

Matson is a multi-award winning documentary film maker. “Crazy Horse: The Lakota Warrior’s Life and Legacy” is his first book.

Clown, War Eagle, and Matson all reside in South Dakota. The family plans to adopt Matson as a brother.
