MOHALL – The Minot Area Community Foundation’s Anna S. and Harold A.C. Bergstrom Scholarship Fund has invested $15,000 in the post-secondary education of six MLS High School graduates.
The scholarship awards were open to all graduating Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood High School seniors who will be enrolling in a post-secondary institution following high school graduation to pursue a career important to rural North Dakota. Scholarship recipients receiving $3,000 awards are Eva Klokstad Zoe Labatore, Brielle Volk and Brooke Zimmer. Receiving $1,500 awards are Zoey Anderson and Drayson Johnson.
Selection for awards from the Bergstrom Scholarship Fund were based on the students’ scholastic and vocational achievements/ability and their explanation of how their chosen career is important to and will benefit rural North Dakota, as this was Harold and Anna Bergstrom’s intent.
“Since its inception, the fund has awarded more than $221,000 in scholarships,” said Jason Zimmerman, president of the Minot Area Community Foundation. “It is meaningful to continue honoring Harold and Anna Bergstrom’s legacy by helping local students pursue education and careers that will make a lasting difference in rural communities.”
