Taube presents ‘Beyond the Prairie’

Submitted Photo Ted Martin’s interpretation of the theme of human rights will be exhibited in “Beyond the Prairie” at The Taube Art Museum Aug. 6-Sept. 5.

The Taube Art Museum in Minot will be hosting “Beyond the Prairie,” an exhibition of drawings by Fargo-based artist Ted Martin from Aug. 6-Sept. 5. This exhibition marks his first solo museum show and features more than 15 detailed drawings, ranging in size from 11 inches by 14 inches to three feet in height, according to the Taube.

Raised on a farm in Mott, Martin’s work often focuses on the people and animals of his upbringing. The exhibition explores his interpretation of the theme of human rights across the United States, including art depicting his thoughts on gun control and immigrant rights, with drawings done in pen, marker and Crayola crayons.

Martin’s work has previously been exhibited at The Rourke Art Gallery & Museum, Fargo City Hall and the Plains Art Museum.

The exhibit is free and open to the public, made possible by a grant from the PFund Foundation.

A closing reception will be held Sept. 5 from 2-4 p.m.

Museum hours are Tuesday-Friday from 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Starting at $2.99/week.
