A North Dakota Department of Commerce grant will support a Minot-area hospitality workforce initiative led by Visit Minot. The project will assess industry needs and provide a coordinated workforce strategy, according to Visit Minot.

“Tourism industry employers across Minot are facing many of the same workforce challenges, including recruitment, training gaps, and retaining qualified employees,” said Stephanie Schoenrock, executive director of Visit Minot, in a news release. “This initiative allows local industry leaders to help shape a coordinated approach to strengthening the workforce that supports our attractions, hotels, restaurants and events.”

Awarded in February by the ND Commerce Regional Workforce Impact Program, the project will result in development of a comprehensive hospitality workforce strategy outlining regional talent needs, career pathways and recommendations for sustained employer collaboration. The strategy also will provide guidance on integrating AI into the workplace and developing a roadmap for implementation.
