Hole-in-one recorded at Wildwood Country Club

Hoffer lands perfect shot over the weekend

On Saturday, Dec. 5, Susan Hoffer, an avid golfer who hails from the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, registered her first ever hole-in-one at the Wildwood Country Club northwest of Burlington.

As Hoffer tells the Minot Daily News, her shot happened on the 11th hole, which is about 145 yards long. Typically a fan of the six iron, the Canadian golf enthusiast says she wanted to switch things up a bit, and used a seven iron to attempt her incredible shot. As it turned out, the seven iron was the right choice. “It was a perfect shot right down the center of the fairway,” Hoffer explains via telephone. “After it landed, my golf partner Brooke (Melby) and I weren’t sure if it actually went in, but we suspected it might have.”

In commemoration of her perfect shot, the country club gave Hoffer a golden putter, and she saved both the tee and the ball that was used to sink the hole-in-one. Having started golf as a hobby back in high school, Hoffer exudes humility when talking about her accomplishment. “By no means am I a great golfer, it just takes a lot of strokes, and honestly it takes a lot of luck too. I just want to keep golfing for as long as possible with the weather being so nice for this time of year,” she adds.

Starting at $2.99/week.
