NAHL cancels remainder of 2019-20 regular season

The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has announced that all remaining 2019-20 regular season games have been canceled effective immediately due to the international medical emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NAHL’s regular season was scheduled to end on April 4th.

Statement from NAHL Commissioner Mark Frankenfeld:

“We understand that this is a very difficult time for our hockey community and we are working on all options in order to conclude the season with a Robertson Cup Championship. We are actively and continuously monitoring a very challenging and fluid environment in order to make the right decision for everyone involved.”

The Minotauros (27-16-7) will finish in fourth place in the Central Division standings.

ACHA awards Player, Coach of the Year honors for DI women’s hockey

The American Colleigiate Hockey Association (ACHA) named the Division I women’s hockey 2019-20 Player of the Year and Coach of the Year on Monday.

Michigan State’s Maddie Wolsmann beat out Minot State’s Sami Jo Henry and Liberty’s Danica Polson to win the Zoe Harris award for Player of the Year. Coach of the Year went to Bill Wright from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

The ACHA National Tournament has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
