City hosts planning public workshops

The City of Minot will host a second series of area planning public workshops as part of the effort to update its comprehensive plan.

The three meetings will address five identified areas of growth in Minot: Downtown Area, Flood Impacted Neighborhoods, Southwest Growth Area, Northwest Growth Area, and the Extraterritorial Growth Area. The meetings will focus on specific neighborhoods and areas, but all Minot citizens are welcome to attend, including residents in the two-mile area outside Minot city limits. Alternative development opportunities will be available for review and input.

The area planning public workshops will take place:

— Northwest Growth Area Tuesday, Aug. 16, 6:30 -8:30 p.m., Erik Ramstad Middle School, 1215 36th Ave. NW.

— Southwest & Extraterritorial Growth Areas, Wednesday, Aug. 17, 3-5 p.m., Hess Goliath Room, 3015 16th St. SW, Minot.

— Downtown & Flood Impacted Neighborhoods, Wednesday, Aug. 17, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Carnegie Center Downtown, 105 2nd Ave. SE.

Topics will include future opportunities for housing, businesses, and transportation. The plan update is an opportunity to reassess community needs and opportunities and shape Minot’s future. The 2040 Comprehensive Plan will establish a vision, goals, and strategies to guide growth and development in and around Minot over the next two decades. Project partners include the Minot Parks District, Minot Public School District 1, Minot Area Chamber Economic Development Corporation, North Dakota Department of Transportation, and neighboring jurisdictions.

Starting at $2.99/week.
