Youth showcase skills at Communication Arts Contest

Youth from Mountrail and Ward counties showcased their public speaking and presenting skills during the County 4-H Communication Arts Contest held March 28 at the Mountrail County South Complex in Stanley.
The contest is divided into three age groups: Senior (ages 13-18), Junior (ages 8-12) and Cloverbud (ages 5-7).
The North Dakota 4-H Communication Arts program focuses on helping help youth develop lifelong communication skills, organize and present information effectively, practice speaking before groups and build confidence in public presentations.

All participants in the Ward and Mountrail County 4-H Communication Arts Contest are eligible to advance to their respective District 4-H Communication Arts contests.
Mountrail County youth competed in their Multi-County Programming (MPU) district contest in Williston on Friday, May 1, alongside Burke, Divide, McKenzie and Williams counties. Ward County youth will compete in their MPU district contest in Rugby on May 27, joining Bottineau, McHenry, Pierce and Renville counties.
First-place winners at the district level in each junior and senior division category (individual and team) qualify to compete at the State 4-H Communication Arts Contest held during the North Dakota State Fair on July 18 beginning at 11 a.m. in the Upper Atrium of the ND State Fair Center.
