Atypical Brewery and Barrelworks hosts trivia nights

Once the holidays have passed, snow has settled in to stay, and temperatures drop below zero, people are a less likely to venture out for activities. Atypical Brewery and Barrelworks Creative Director Kellie Sink said one way Atypical is combating the winter slump is with trivia nights.
“After the holidays everybody kind of slows down. January, February, and March are always the slowest time of year in service industry, so it’s just a nice way to bring people in,” Sink said. “Trivia is really popular and something new we get to try too.”
The brewery will host its second trivia night tonight at 7 p.m. after a successful trivia night in December of 2021.
“We had a full house last time. We weren’t sure what to expect because it was our first time, but it was nice to see the place packed, and we’re hoping for a good turn out,” Sink said.
For now, the plan is to continue having trivia twice a month until summer when business naturally picks up. Sink said the four categories at tonight’s trivia will be beer, entertainment, sports & leisure, and food, with 10 questions per category. Teams can be anywhere from one to five people, and there is no need to sign up ahead of time. The winning team receives a free pint of beer per player and one free growler.
The next trivia night is planned for Jan. 20. Atypical Brewery and Barrelworks is located at 510 Central Ave. E. in Minot.
