Sabers defeat Majettes basketball, 57-41
Braving more sub-zero weather, the Bismarck Legacy Sabers (13-4, 12-4 WDA) traveled to Minot Thursday to take on the Majettes (4-13, 4-12 WDA) at Magic City Campus. The Sabers held on to an early lead to defeat the Majettes, 57-41.
One area the Majettes shined bright in was at the free throw line, making 19 of 25 for 76 percent. Juniors Allie Nelson, Landry Maragos and Becca Tschetter each had perfect nights when called to the line. Nelson went 7-for-7, Maragos went 4-for-4 and Tschetter in one visit went 2-for-2.
Nelson was also the leading scorer for the Majettes with 13 points, while Legacy’s MacKenzie Boone had a game-high 19 points.
Following Nelson with six points each were Regan McNally, Lauren McLean and Tschetter for the Majettes.
The Majettes return to the court at 7:30 p.m. tonight to face the Jamestown Blue Jays (10-6, 9-6 WDA) at the Magic City Campus.
