Two charged with possession of stolen property

Two people were charged with Class C felony possession of stolen property on Sunday after they tried to return the items they stole, according to court records.

Seth Dorscher, 23, and Carli Boyko, 25, both were scheduled to make initial appearances in district court in Minot on Monday.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court by the Ward County Sheriff’s Department, Dorscher and Boyko had taken up to $2,000 in items from a vehicle when it was stuck in a ditch when the owner was returning from ice fishing. Dorscher and Boyko went back to try and return the generator, two snowmobile jackets, fishing camera and drill. Boyko’s father ordered them to return the items after his daughter posted information online and tried to sell the stolen generator. The owner of the items asked around to try to find out what happened to his property and made contact with Boyko’s father.
