Hot Tots working for a good cause
Kari Gibb/MDN Last week the Minot Hot Tots did more than play in seven games. Members of the team and organization worked with Farmers Union Insurance, who spearheaded a canned food drive in support of the Lord’s Cupboard, and gathered 3,21 pounds of food and nearly $700 in donations. The day for delivery of canned food for the drive had cars lined up for the 7 a.m. drop off at Corbett Field. Weather was cooler than normal and rain was a constant threat. Farmers Union employees, Hot Tots players and organizational team members greeted the public and were on hand to assist in the effort. Those working the event also shared their message thanking those who arrived to give canned food and support the cause. The Minot Hot Tots gave away limited edition Magic City Hot Tots jerseys. Once those jerseys ran out, that did not stop the flow of traffic or donations. Everyone involved expressed their gratitude and how impressive the warmth and giving nature of the Minot community.
