Hot Tots look to halt skid with series versus Big Sticks

The Hot Tots have faced a three game losing streak after their split series against Bismarck Larks and the Willmar Stingers mid-week sweep.

Heading into the weekend, the Hot Tots face off against the Badlands Big Sticks for the third time this season.

The Hot Tots and the Big Sticks split their season-opening series 1-1, with the Hot Tots taking the win in the first game of the season. They met a second time on the weekend of June 13 and June 14, with the Big Sticks taking the win in both games.

The first game of their four game series in Dickinson was on Friday night, June 26.

The Big Sticks kicked off the game in the bottom of the first inning with the first run of the game earned on a sacrifice fly.

The Big Sticks scored again on another sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third inning, but the Hot Tots were not able to put a single run on the board until the top of the sixth inning.

Micah McCoy hit an RBI single off of the Big Sticks closer into center field, allowing Isaac Huettl to run home from third on loaded bases.

The Hot Tots had another scoreless inning in the top of the seventh inning, leaving the score 2-1 with the Big Sticks leading at deadline.

The two teams will continue their series on Saturday, June 27, and play on Sunday and Monday to close out their third series of the season.
