Despite rainy weather Minot High sweeps matches

WILLISTON – On a rainy day, the Minot High Majette tennis team made the trek to Williston to face the Wolves and came home with the 7-0 win for their efforts. Due to the weather conditions, the match was held indoors and as such, did not count in the Western Dakota Association (WDA) standings.

Majette Kyllie Fettig worked the No. 1 singles match against the Wolves Avy Ator and battled to a 6-3, 7-6 (5) win that tested the focus of each player in the second set. Minot High’s Grace Olson bested Williston’s Keira Borreson 6-2, 6-0 to take the No. 2 singles match.

Ava Thuner beat Williston’s CeCe Bakken 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 3 singles match for Minot High while Majjette Adi Dittus fought the Wolves Lindsey Hansen in the next most contested match at No. 4 singles to a 6-0, 7-6 (5) win to round out the singles play.

At the No. 1 doubles match, Minot High’s Sienna Ronning – Lila Olson beat Williston’s Garcia Tong – Presley Larson 6-3, 6-0 while the No. 2 doubles pairing of Sodmeu Ressler – Reese Goodman took the in for the Majettes over the Wolves Gracia Borreson – Maci Heller 6-0, 6-0.

Minot High’s Braxtyn Bennett – Ella Sherver won at the No. 3 doubles in the most competitive match against Williston’s Francis Mansiberg – Dani Tinklenberg 6-2, 7-6 (4) for the sweep.

Minot High will host Bismarck Legacy on Thursday, April 18, at Hammond Park if the weather is permitting.
