Beavers eighth after opening round in Missouri

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Minot State’s Holly Knudsen shot a 9-over 81 and teammate Taylor Cormier carded a 14-over 86, leading the way for the Beavers on the first day of Missouri Western State’s Holiday Inn Express Classic.

The second and final round of the tournament being played at the St. Joseph Country Club will be Tuesday.

Knudsen and Cormier’s efforts helped Minot State land in eighth place in the team standings after day one as the Beavers shot a team total of 55-over 343.

Knudsen is tied for 24th and Cormier is tied for 33rd in the individual standings while Zoe Banack was next for Minot State as she is tied for 35th at 15-over 87, Jaci Jones is tied for 42nd at 17-over 89, and Abigail Goettle is tied for 45th at 20-over 92.

Augustana shot a 12-over 300 as a team to lead the field after day one while Fort Hays State’s Morgan Brasser and Missouri Western State’s Florence Phan each shot matching even-par 72s and are tied for the individual lead.
