Tauros exchange forwards with Rhinos

Sean Williams/MDN Tory Lund (23) of the Minot Minotauros is headed to the El Paso Rhinos as part of a trade to add more experience to the Tauros’ roster.

As the Minot Minotauros are in the midst of fighting for a playoff spot, head coach and general manager Cody Campbell added more experience to his roster.

On Tuesday, it was announced that the Tauros have traded forward Tory Lund and future assets (draft picks and tenders) to the El Paso Rhinos in exchange for Kolby Amici.

Serving as the captain of the Rhinos, Amici is a forward who led the team with 17 points on seven goals and 10 assists. Before making his way to El Paso, Texas, Amici played in 54 games for the Jamestown Rebels last season.

Currently participating in the 2023 North American Hockey League (NAHL) Top Prospects Tournament, Amici has one goal and one assist in two games for Team South.

The Minotauros have representatives at the tournament as well, giving Amici a chance to get familiar with some of his new teammates before coming to the Magic City for a home series this weekend.

As part of the deal, Lund, who was in his first season with the Minotauros, will now become a member of the Rhinos organization. During his time in Minot, Lund totaled 11 points on four goals and seven assists in 36 games.

For fans wanting to see the newest member of their squad, the Minotauros will be back home for a two-game series with the Aberdeen Wings starting this Friday. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. for both games.
