Benefits of tax cut are trickling down

Steven Stremick

We are seeing more and more cash benefits coming from the tax cut that Rep. Kevin Cramer voted for and Sen. Heidi Heitkamp voted against.

Wal-Mart is now paying employees, based on how long they worked for the retailer, a cash bonus. Yes, cash. And they are getting it immediately.

In addition, Wal-Mart also raised the starting wage for new workers as a result of the new tax plan. Some industry analysts are predicting that lower product prices from Wal-Mart may be next.

This was all possible, analysts said, after an analysis of the opportunities that tax reform provided. Yes, the tax reform that Kevin Cramer voted for and Heidi Heitkamp voted against (sorry, it needed to be repeated).

By the way, Wal-Mart is one of 409 U.S. companies (and counting) that have announced pay raises, bonuses, or 401(k) hikes. These are concrete benefits putting money into the pockets of hard-working families all across North Dakota and our great nation.

Heidi missed the boat on this, and it’s going to cost her the election. She didn’t stand for North Dakota, while Kevin Cramer did. He’s getting my support this election year.
