Gary Hambek (“Vacky”) passed away on Sunday, November 6 in Frisco, Texas. Gary was born and raised on the Hambek family farm in Minot, ND. He served his country in the United States Marines from 1960 thru 1963, and later attended The University of North Dakota in Grand Forks where in 1972 he received a BS degree in Business Management. On graduation, he moved to Littleton, CO, and was employed with he U.S. Geological Survey and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service over a 35 year career. He enjoyed the outdoors and hunting opportunities afforded in the nearby Rocky Mountains throughout his adult life. Gary is survived by two sons Wayne and Keith, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, niece Paula, brother Jim and sister Joyce Hansen. The family plans to hold memorial services in Littleton, CO and Minot, ND in the coming months.
