Girls Soccer: McKibben nets hat trick in Magi’s win over Saints
After suffering its first regular season loss since 2019, the Minot High girls soccer team started a new streak in a 5-1 victory over Bismarck St. Mary’s on Tuesday, April 14.
Ainsley McKibben netted a hat trick as the Majettes put 10 shots on goal.
The Majettes (4-1-0 overall, 4-1-0 WDA) struck for three goals in the opening half, with McKibben registering her first of the match in the 11th minute off an assist from Aleah Gibbons. Kaylee Jackson stretched the lead to 2-0 three minutes later.
Hatti Reinke scored unassisted in the 35th minute.
St. Mary’s (3-2-0, 3-2-0) got on the board a minute later off a shot from Stella Galli. The Saints finished with four shots on goal.
McKibben scored both goals in the second half to complete the hat trick. Kella Brekke notched the assist on McKibben’s third goal.
Kynsli Gillmore finished with three saves for the Majettes. Aayla Stewart stopped five shots for the Saints.
Minot High hosts Bismarck High on Thursday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m. at Duane Carlson Stadium.
