Enforcement campaign nets 101 arrests
Law enforcement agencies throughout North Dakota participated in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement campaign in March, resulting in 101 arrests and citations for alcohol or drug-related offenses.
The enforcement campaign sought to deter motorists from driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Of those arrests, 68 were driving under the influence; six arrests or citations for minor in consumption and minor in possession, as well as nine for open container.
According to the North Dakota Department of Transportation, alcohol contributes to about one-third of all fatal crashes in North Dakota each year.
