Webinars set for organic, transitioning farmers

The Foundation for Agricultural and Rural Resources Management and Sustainability (FARRMS) is hosting two free webinars this fall to help farmers explore organic production opportunities, access available USDA support programs, and better understand the organic certification process. The webinars are designed for both producers considering organic transition and those actively pursuing certification. Community center opens in Parshall

PARSHALL – The grand opening of the Northeast Segment Community Center will be Friday, Oct. 2, from 1-4 p.m. at the center at 3818 72nd Ave. NW in Parshall. Those participating in the event include MHA Nation Chairman Mark Fox and MHA Tribal Business Council. Those attending the event can tour the facility. Lunch will be provided onsite. The center is a facility for fun and health. It includes a state-of-the-art gym, commercial kitchen, volleyball and basketball courts, zip line, rock climbing wall, coffee bar, elders room and swimming pool.

Orchestra festival to feature concert

The North Dakota String Teachers Association is sponsoring the 44th annual State Orchestra festival at Minot North High School on Friday, Oct. 2, and Saturday, Oct. 3. This annual event is a sight-reading festival that draws orchestra students from around the state. There will be 170 students on stage. The students will see the music for the first time at the initial rehearsal on Friday afternoon and perform in concert on Saturday at 2 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. The Taube Museum of Art has scheduled adult classes and Halloween events for a fun-filled October. Three classes will be offered Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Taube.
