Incident occurs at injection well site
WATFORD CITY – A facility fire occurred Thursday, Oct. 23, at an injection well site in the Watford City area, and brine and skim oil were released into containment.
The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division was notified of the incident at the Bosque Brice SWD 1 injection well site, at 1866 Bear Den Road, according to Oil and Gas Division information.
Bosque Water Systems reported Thursday that 2,000 barrels of brine and 500 barrels of skim oil were released into containment.
Federal and state laws require operators to report the spillage of any materials that may pollute water, air or soil.
A North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality inspector has been to the location and has reported no off-pad contamination.
A N.D. Oil and Gas inspector also has been to the location and will monitor any additional clean up required.
