Troy Wichterman, Stanley, charged with theft, prohibited possession of firearms, explosives, silencers

Troy Eugene Wichterman, 46, Stanley, is facing 13 Class C felony theft, drug, and firearms charges in district court in Stanley.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, the Mountrail County Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant and searched Wichterman’s home on Thursday. The search turned up brass knuckles in Wichterman’s pants pocket. Multiple methamphetamine pipes were found in the kitchen and bedroom. Heroin was found on the bedside table. Five firearms were found in the bedroom along with a large amount of ammunition and body armor. Tannerite explosive targets were also found in the bedroom. Three homemade silencers were located in the dining room along with materials to manufacture silencer parts. A stolen enclosed trailer valued at $7,000 was found outside the residence.

Wichterman is charged with Class C felony possession of stolen property, Class C felony possession of drug paraphernalia, Class C felony possession of heroin, a second offense, three counts of Class C felony possession of a silencer, Class C felony possession of explosives, five counts of Class C felony prohibited possession of a firearm, Class C felony possession of methamphetamine, a second offense, and Class A misdemeanor possession of a concealed weapon.
