MINOT AIR FORCE BASE – The 2020 Northern Neighbors Day open house and airshow at Minot Air Force Base has been canceled, base officials said on Thursday.

The event was scheduled for Aug. 1, 2020.

“Because Grand Forks and Minot Air Force Base share dates for our 2020 airshows, and because of our high operational tempo, Minot Air Force Base has decided to move our airshow to a later date. Grand Forks Air Force Base, however, will continue to have their airshow during the summer of 2020, and will have an open house with Air Force Thunderbirds Air Demonstration Squadron from August 1st to the 2nd. We highly encourage everyone to go see the Grand Forks airshow; a treat that will hopefully keep you satiated until Minot Air Force Base returns with our own,” Minot AFB officials said.

Minot AFB’s most recent Northern Neighbors Day event was held in August 2018. Thousands of people flocked to the base for the event that day to see what the military does. The Air Force Thunderbirds and other military and civilian aircraft performed that day along with activities.
