Each year, various motorcycle organizations decorate tables and give out candy to trick or treaters at a free indoor Halloween walk called Harleyween.
The local motorcycle organizations donate the candy and treats, and members of the organizations volunteer to give out the candy to families who come to see the decorations, motorcycles and gather treats. The event is held at Magic City Harley-Davidson.
This year’s event on Saturday had steady foot traffic through the day, and as a measure of attendees, Brandon “T-Rex” Tapp, of the Northern Infidels Motorcycle Club, said his club handed out “about 20 bags of candy.” Tapp said the Northern Infidels have been coming to the event since the club’s inception. “The event gives kids a safe, warm place to trick or treat,” Tapp said. He said getting to see the costumes is fun for those passing out candy as well.
Miles “Lil Spoon” Smith, a member of the Ramblers Motorcycle Club from Ray, said his club has been coming to Harleyween since the Minot business started hosting the event. “We’re here to make sure the kids have a good time,” Smith said. According to Smith, “The event is a good time,” as all the local organizations get together to pass out candy.
“The kids love it,” said Britanna Giroux, who attends the event with her family each year, “They love seeing all the motorcycles,” she said. Giroux said her youngest, Sloan, enjoyed holding her candy bucket.

There was also a doggy costume contest in which members of the community were invited to bring their dogs to participate in their own canine costume contest.
