Minot Symphony to present ‘Halloween Spooktacular’

The Minot Symphony Orchestra conducted by Efraín Amaya will present “Halloween Spooktacular,” on Saturday, with musicology (the study of music) at 6 p.m. and music at 7 p.m. in Minot State University’s Ann Nicole Nelson Hall.

The concert will feature the world premiere of “Images of the Imagination” for full symphony by Glenburn native Michael HarriSon. HarriSon was named the 2023-24 Young Composer Competition winner. He is an elementary band teacher at Minot Public Schools and performs regularly with several other community groups in the Minot area.

Dianna Anderson, MSU professor of music and pianist, will perform “Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G.”

The program concludes with “Flicker,” featuring film excerpts of acclaimed classical masterpieces during the gilded age of film.

Tickets start at $25 for adults with active military, senior and student discounts available.
