The season doesn’t end today, but if it did, the Minot United girls hockey team would be participating in the state tournament, a position they haven’t been in for awhile. Minot United matched its season high for goals in a 4-1 victory over Mandan on Saturday, Jan. 10, at Starion Sports Complex. The victory vaulted Minot United over the Braves in the standings, taking over the eighth spot. Karson Kraft won four of his five matches and took second place at 139 pounds at the Bismarck Rotary over the weekend at the Bismarck Event Center. The Minot United boys wrestling team had six wrestlers place in the top eight, including two at 215 pounds with Evan Berg and Tucker Nelson. Boys Swimming & Diving: Magicians dominate dual meet against Williston

The Minot High boys swimming & diving team won nine of 12 events and cruised to a 100-50 victory over Williston in a dual meet on Saturday, Jan. 10, in Williston. Andrew Francis and Luke Neumann each won both of their individual events, Tayson Solper claimed another victory in 1-meter diving and the Magicians won two of the three relays. It took a period, but the second-ranked Minot State men’s ice hockey team shook off the rust from a month away from game action and took down its in-state rival U-Mary, 4-0, on Friday, Jan. 9, at All Seasons Arena. Women’s Hockey: Beavers sweep Jamestown in first games of new year

The Minot State women’s ice hockey team opened the 2026 portion of their season on the right foot with a two-game sweep of the University of Jamestown. Kaitlyn Snyder scored the game-winning goal with 6:47 remaining in regulation to give the Beavers a 2-1 victory on Friday, Jan. 9.
