Tauros assistant coach takes DI job

It was a brief stint for Minot Minotauros assistant coach Connor Mauro, who will be leaving his role with the Minotauros for an NCAA DI opportunity, the team announced on Thursday.

Mauro joined the organization in May and during his time in the Magic City, helped put together the team’s roster heading into the 2022-23 season.

“Though his time in Minot was brief he had a large impact on what our roster will look like this upcoming season and contributed heavily while he was here. We wish him the best of luck as he advances to DI college hockey,” head coach and general manager Cody Campbell said.

Between having both newly hired assistants on staff, Mauro and Kyle Sharkey, the Minotauros were looking to have back-to-back seasons where the team would have two full-time assistants on staff.

With the start of training camp coming up on Aug. 20, Campbell will keep Maruo’s position vacant for now, moving into the regular season with Kyle Sharkey as the lone assistant coach on staff.
