Region 3 softball standouts earn All Region Team honors

James Jackson/MDN Players selected to the 2022 Northwest Conference All Region Softball Team soak in a moment of recognition Wednesday night at the South Hill Complex in Minot.

As the dust settled in the aftermath of the Class B-Region 3 tournament at the South Hill Complex in Minot on Wednesday, the standout players from the region during the 2022 season were recognized and honored as members of the 2022 Northwest Conference All Region Softball Team. All-in-all, seven teams from Region 3 were represented by one or more players from their roster.

Leading the region with five players selected to the team, the Bottineau Stars were represented by junior Delani Tweed, sophomore Halle Gullett, freshman Kaia Hennings, freshman Camryn Tweed, and junior Emma Rybchinski.

Coming in close behind with four players on the roster, the Renville County Muskrats were represented by junior Ellie Braaten, sophomore Ginger Savelkoul, sophomore Addison Mach, and freshman Karsyn Lautenschlager.

Also with four player representatives were the Des Lacs-Burlington Lakers, represented by senior MacKenzie Rist, junior Kaelyn Bachmeier, sophomore Camy Benno, and sophomore Shay Holen.

Placing two players on the team were the Ray Jays, represented by sophomore Maddix Falk and 7th grader Brinlee Cancade.

Filling out the rest of the roster were senior Brooke Anderson of the Rugby Panthers, senior Lorelei McIver of the Glenburn Panthers, and freshman Violet Demars of the Bishop Ryan Lions.
