MHS overwhelms Legacy at home 7-0

Majettes finish home schedule undefeated

Robert Brewer/MDN Minot freshman midfielder Maicee Burke, pictured in a home game from earlier this season, recorded a first half goal in the Majettes' 7-0 victory over Bismarck Legacy on Saturday evening.

The Minot Majettes, now 10-0 on the season, kept their undefeated season intact at the expense of the Bismarck Legacy Sabers on Saturday night. Minot went on to a 7-0 victory over visiting Legacy at Duane Carlson Stadium.

Minot opened up the scoring with three goals in the first half, followed by four more in the second. All total, five different players scored in the game as Lainey Sanberg and MaLiah Burke recorded two goals apiece.

By virtue of the win, Minot wraps up its regular season home record at a perfect 6-0 and also clinched the WDA regular season championship. After the win, MHS head coach Matt Pfau noted how highly productive the offense was against Legacy.

“We got off to a Great start again and put pressure on them early,” Pfau stated. “The team had a lot of quality goals tonight.”

Up next, the Majettes plan to conclude the regular season on the road against Bismarck Century on Tuesday. Minot came away with a 7-0 victory in its previous matchup against Century on April 27.
