Application deadline extended for Board of Higher Education

North Dakota State School Superintendent Kirsten Baesler announced Wednesday that the application deadline for the Board of Higher Education has been extended to 5 p.m. on Monday, May 6.

The current term for incumbent John Warford of Bismarck will be coming to an end on Sunday, June 30, and he has not applied for a second term.

North Dakotans who have a bachelor’s degree from North Dakota State University are ineligible for election, as there are already two members who are NDSU alumni. According to the state constitution, no more than two bachelor’s degree holders from any one North Dakota college may serve on the board at one time.

Applicants must fill out a one-page application and give a resume, along with no more than six letters of personal reference. Applicants must have lived in North Dakota for the previous five years, and they may not have been employed by the North Dakota University System within the last two years.
