EDINBURG, Tx. — Although the Minot State women’s basketball team (0-2) led 22-20 after one quarter, the Beavers mustered just six points in the second frame of Saturday’s contest against UT Rio Grande Valley (1-1).

The Vaqueros used an 18-0 run in the second quarter to gain the advantage. From there, the Beavers never led. UT Rio Grande Valley won 75-56.

MSU junior guard/forward Calli Delsman shot 60% from the field, scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed six rebounds. Junior forward Haley Hildenbrand added nine points and seven rebounds.

Halie Jones led UTRGV with 15 points and four steals. The Vaqueros shot 58% from three-point range in the first half and scored 32 bench points in the game.

The Beavers will welcome Dickinson State University to the MSU Dome at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 13.
