Minotauros unveil preseason schedule

The 2019-20 Minotauros report for training camp on August 22, and get one last round of golf in on the 23rd, at the Minotauros 7th Annual Golf Tournament as a symbolic end of the offseason before returning to work on the 24th. The 30 players invited to Minot for training camp will have four exhibition games all in North Dakota to earn their spot on the roster.

After the golf tournament fans will get their first look at the Tauros on the ice on Thursday, August 29, when the team holds a free intersquad scrimmage at 7 p.m. on the Pepsi Rink at Maysa Arena. Then the Tauros preseason opens with the Minotauros hosting the Estevan Bruins (SJHL) on September 6 at 7:35 p.m. at Maysa Arena. Then, the next night, the St. Cloud Blizzard (formerly the Brookings Blizzard) come to Minot for another 7:35 p.m. start.

The next weekend the Tauros traditional preseason weekend with the Bobcats gets taken to another level. The two will meet in The War in Watford City, a two-game series at the Rough Rider Center in Watford City, North Dakota.

“We’re excited to bring the best rivalry in the NAHL to Watford and the Rough Rider Center and a new set of fans in western North Dakota,” said Tauros head coach and general manager Marty Murray.

Tickets for the War in Watford City go on sale August 1st at roughridercenter.com or at the Rough Rider Center box office. Friday’s game in Watford will start at

8 p.m. and Saturday’s at 7 p.m.

Both teams will wear commemorative jerseys which will be auctioned off after the games.

The War in Watford will be the Tauros final tune up before the NAHL Showcase which starts the Wednesday after.
