MSU women’s basketball adds to coaching staff

Minot State head women’s basketball coach Mark Graupe announced the addition of three members to the women’s basketball coaching staff on Tuesday.

Taylor Henningsgard has been selected as the assistant women’s basketball coach and Maverick Harris is promoted to director of basketball operations while Ryan Clark has been added as a graduate assistant coach.

“I’m both excited and thankful for the opportunity to be an assistant coach within a Division II setting,” said Henningsgard. “I look forward to gaining experience and sharing my knowledge and love for the game with Minot State women’s basketball, and I can’t wait to be a part of the program.”

Henningsgard arrives at Minot State after coaching one season as a graduate assistant and junior varsity coach at Briar Cliff.

Henningsgard began her coaching career at Lake Region State College as an assistant coach in 2017-18. The team finished with an overall record of 20-12 that year while appearing in the Region XIII Championship. She was also the AAU 16U head coach in Rugby, N.D. in 2018 as she guided the team to a 14-7 record with two second place and a fourth place finish in five tournaments.

Henningsgard competed at Dickinson State where she helped the team advance to the national tournament in 2015, 2016 and 2017. She was First Team All-Conference in the North Star Conference in 2017 and was First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Region in 2015. Henningsgard was the Region XIII Tournament MVP in 2017 and was a team captain in 2015 and 2017.

Harris moves into the director of operations role and will work with both men’s and women’s programs in recruiting, on-court coaching and development and the coordination of camps. He served as a graduate assistant men’s basketball coach in 2018-19 at Minot State.

Clark becomes a graduate assistant coach after his one-year stint at Dickinson State as an assistant men’s basketball coach. He played two seasons at Lake Region State College before competing two seasons at Dickinson State.
