Rosemary Bailey, 99, of Towner, ND, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025, at St. Andrew’s Hospital in Bottineau.
Rosemary Meyer was born on August 20, 1926, in Karlsruhe, ND, to Anton and Dorothy (Steier) Meyer. The eldest of 14 children, she grew up in McHenry County and graduated from Granville High School in 1945. She married Vernon Bailey on October 16, 1945, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Granville. Together they farmed and raised their family on the Bailey farmstead in Denbigh.
She was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters, Prairie Rose Homemakers Club, and the Polkateers Dance Club. Rosemary’s greatest joy was her family–she loved dancing, crocheting, visiting with friends, and especially attending her children’s and grandchildren’s events.
Rosemary is survived by her children Robert, Terry (Kathy), Jon (Betty), Randy (Joan), and Sheila Hanson, Fargo, ND; siblings Don (Sondra) Meyer, Gary (Bonnie) Meyer, and Patti Bradford; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; son, Larry; son-in-law, Keith Hanson; her parents, Anton and Dorothy, her in-laws, Clyde and Agnes Bailey, and several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Friday, November 7, from 5-7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in Minot, with a prayer service to follow.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday, November 8, at 10:30 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Towner,
followed by burial in the Granville Cemetery. A light lunch will be served at the Granville Senior Citizens Center.
The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Somerset in Minot, The Good Samaritan Society in Bottineau, and St. Andrew’s Hospital for their care and kindness.
