Funeral Mass for Tillie Jordan, 98, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, August 31, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. Father Justin Waltz and Father Keith Streifel will concelebrate the mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Visitation for Tillie will be 5-6 p.m., Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson, with a rosary and vigil beginning at 6 p.m.

Tillie passed away on August 24, 2023, at Edgewood Vista in Minot.

Tillie Obrigewitsch was born on February 28, 1925, in Dickinson, North Dakota to Xavier and Magdaline (Kuntz) Obrigewitsch. She was raised in the Schefield area where she attended country schools through the 8th grade. Growing up, she babysat for numerous relatives and eventually worked as a cook in a cafe.

She met Max Jordan at the Highway Inn in Dickinson and were married on October 3, 1946. To this union, two daughters were born, Pamela and Delphine. Together they farmed and ranched in the Emerson community. They retired and moved to Dickinson in 1987 and Max passed away in 1991. In 2018, she moved to Edgewood Vista in Minot until the time of her death.

Tillie was a hard worker. She milked dairy cows, butchered chickens, and even hauled water back and forth from the well until they put in running water in 1973. She loved gardening, canning, and caring for flowers. She enjoyed playing hand-n-foot, going to the casino, and spending time with family. She was also known for her apple turnovers, chocolate chip cookies, and blachinda (except Kevin didn’t like pumpkin). During her time at Edgewood, she enjoyed bingo, happy hour, and Pokeno. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Anns Altar Society, and Perpetual member of the Miraculous Medal. She was very strong in her faith, said the rosary daily and watched daily mass. She will be missed dearly.

Tillie is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Vincent) Degele and Delphine Jordan; grandchildren, Peggy (Kevin) Mosser, Renee Degele, Trina Jordan, and Ray Ray Jordan; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Kiara Mosser, Taylor Hupp, and Sterling Jordan sister, Virginia Schmidt; sisters-in-law Eleanor Steckler, Caroline (Nick) Weinberger and Paulette Obrigewitsch; numerous other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by husband Max Jordan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pauline and Nick Rebel; Rose and Tom Grinsteinner, Mae and Simon Greff, John Schmidt and brother John Obrigewitsch.
