Michael Kornkven

Dec. 14, 2992-Dec. 12, 2022

Michael Kornkven, 29, died in his sleep in Portland, OR on December 12, 2022. A memorial service is planned for Thursday, December 22 at First Lutheran Church of Bottineau at 10:00 AM.

Mike was born to Richard and Karna (Molbert) Kornkven of Bottineau on December 14, 1992 at a Minot hospital.

In his early years, one of his favorite places to be was the Bottineau Community Arena playing goalie or just skating with his friends and hanging out with the other rink rats. Mike also liked to spend time at T’s Team Yamaha in his youth and they put him to work in the parts department. Mike graduated from Bottineau High School in 2011. Through his short life, he held several jobs but always gravitated back to the ATV business and worked at ATV shops in North Dakota, Colorado, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska. Mike had special memories of deer hunting in the Badlands and fishing in Canada, both of which included his Grandpa Ray. Later in his life he enjoyed hiking to the top of mountains and enjoying the views, exploring new places, and perhaps his favorite role of being uncle. He adored all his nephews and niece.

Surviving Mike are his parents, sister Elizabeth (Louis) Armstrong and their children Jax, Finn, and Remi, brother Tom (Molly) and their son Jack. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Ralph and Bev Molbert and Ray and Junet Kornkven.

Memorials are preferred to one of Mike’s favorite places: The Phoenix, 511 S Americana Blvd, Boise, ID 83702 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
