LuVerne Caroline

LuVerne Caroline, 98, Minot, formerly of Kenmare, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at a Minot assisted living facility.

LuVerne was born on May 15, 1924 to Hugh and Eleanor (Jacoby) Caroline in Kenmare. He was raised and educated in the Kenmare area and graduated from St. Agnes School.

On September 27, 1949, LuVerne was united in marriage to Darlene Zeltinger in Tolley, North Dakota. They moved to a farm in the Kenmare area where LuVerne began his lifelong career as a farmer. The couple would be blessed with four children, Ronald, Shelly, Linda, and Kimberly. Darlene passed away in 1975. On October 16, 1976, LuVerne married Marie (Weinberger) Kramer in Minot. LuVerne enjoyed being a fatherly figure to her three children, Michael, Thomas, and Katherine.

LuVerne enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, reading and gold prospecting. He loved woodworking and making figurines from sea shells and wood for his grandchildren. He was a former member of the St. Agnes Altar Society. He was currently a member of Little Flower Catholic Church in Minot. LuVerne will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

LuVerne is survived by his wife, Marie; daughters, Linda (Frank) Boehm and Kimberly (Glenn) Kehrer; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; step-sons, Michael (Keri) and Thomas Kramer; step-daughter, Katherine (Rick) Anderson; brother, Francis Caroline; other numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Darlene; son, Ronald; daughter, Shelly; granddaughter, Heather Chlerik; and brother, Gerald.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church in Minot. The service will be livestreamed for the public to view and can be accessed by going to https://bit.ly/3qXP5Jo. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7. Burial will take place in the spring of 2023. Memorials are preferred to the Knights of Columbus.
