Arlo Duane Stevick, 83,
Minot, died Saturday, No-
vember 5, 2022 in a Minot
Hospital.
Arlo was born De-
cember 20, 1938 in Minot,
North Dakota, the son of
Wayne and Doris (Larson)
Stevick. He was raised in
Minot and graduated from
Minot High School in
1957. He furthered his
education at Minot State
University, where he re-
ceived a bachelor’s degree
followed by a master’s de-
gree from Oregon State
University. Arlo honor-
ably served his country
from 1956 to 1962 with
the U.S. Army.
Arlo and Joan Peterson
were married on August
19, 1961. Eight years later
their daughter Suzanne
was born. Throughout
the years, he was em-
ployed as an educator and
administrator at Tolley,
Williston, Klamath Falls,
OR, Lake Region Com-
munity College -Devils
Lake and James Valley
Vocational Center – James-
town. He retired in July
of 2002, after 36 years in
educational experiences.
In 1968, Arlo helped or-
ganize the North Dakota
Adult Education program.
Arlo’s hobbies included
woodworking, leather
carving, hunting, teaching
hunter safety classes, and
Bible study.
His surviving family in-
cludes: wife, Joan;
daughter, Suzanne of
Minot; brother, Jack Stev-
ick of Nevada and sisters,
Sheryl (Bob) Fenner,
Minot and Monica (John)
D’Alessio of Bayonne, NJ.
Private Celebration of
life service: in Thomas
Family Funeral Home,
Minot.
Interment: Rolling
Green Cemetery, rural Des
Lacs, ND later in the
Spring of 2023.
Public Visitation: At his
request, there will not be
a viewing, however
friends may sign the
memorial register on
Wednesday, November
16, 2022 from 4:00 p.m.
until 6:00 p.m. at the Tho-
mas Family Funeral
