Donald Duane Hansen,

67, Minot, formerly of

Ryder died Sunday, July

12, 2020 in a Minot Care

facility.

Donald Hansen was

born in Ryder, ND Febru-

ary 16, 1953, the son of

Mervyn and Bonnie

(Shaw) Hansen. He was

reared in Ryder and raised

in the Catholic faith.

Donald graduated from

North Shore High School

in 1971. Donald attended

college at North Dakota

State School of Science at

Wahpeton, where he

focused on an auto

mechanics diploma.

Donald was once mar-

ried to Jody Bartlett, and

together they raised a son.

After college Don worked

at Halvorson’s Wheel

Alignments in Max for

four years. In 1977,

Donald moved to Minot

and began a career at

Sears as an auto mechanic

until 2002. In 2002, he

moved to Plaza and

worked as a mechanic at

Farmer’s Union until he

retired in 2008.

Donald enjoyed his vo-

cational work as an auto

mechanic and working on

the pit crew of various

racers for many years, as

well as reading, particu-

larly Louis L’Amour nov-

els.

Donald is survived by:

one son Cory (Amber)

Hansen, of Minot, two

granddaughters, Kymber-

ley and McKenzie, two si-

blings; Linda (Tim)

Delzer, Douglas, ND, and

Randy (Salome) Hansen,

of Fertile, MN, nephews;

Russell (Jaime) Delzer,

Crookston, MN, Bradley

(Sonja) Delzer, of Provi-

dence, RI, Matthew

(Angelica) Delzer, Rome,

GA and Paul (April) Han-

sen, E. Grand Forks, ND.

He was preceded in

death by: his parents,

brother, James Hansen,

grandparents; Nels and

Ida Caroline Hansen and

Lawrence and Beatrice

Shaw, and several aunts,

uncles and cousins.

Funeral Liturgy of the

Word will be 11:00 a.m.

Thursday, July 16, 2020 in

St. Elizabeth Catholic

Church, Makoti with buri-

al to follow at St. Eliza-

beth Catholic Cemetery,

Makoti.

Visitation will be held

Wednesday, July 15, 2020

from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00

p.m. in Thomas Family
