Rotary scholarship winners announced

The Minot Rotary Scholarship Foundation has awarded 27 scholarships of $1,000 to high school seniors from Minot and the surrounding area.

This year’s scholarship award recipients are: Rilynn Beck, Lily Solemsaas and Jamie Thompson, all Mohall High School; Lucas Beeter, Adison Dittus, Maicee Burke, Teagen Nicholes, Madison Giffey, Jillian Ackerman and Emma Rensvold, all Minot High School; Cambry Ankenbauer, Bowbells High School; Brita Oppegaard and Billi Fortier, Divide County High School; Leah Lindquist, Our Redeemer’s High School; Chinelo Udekwe and Gianmarco Renda, Bishop Ryan High School; Maddix Falk, Ray High School; Morgan Takala, Towner-Granville-Upham High School; Kyra Bakken, Burke Central High School; Ava Haldorson, Ashley Keller, Emma Selensky and Maleina Joubert, Harvey High School; Natalie Becker, Nedrose High School; Gavin Ruud and Mara Krzmarzick, Garrison High School; and Jaden Bullinger, Powers Lake High School.

The Rotary Scholarship Foundation Fund was established by the Rotary Club of Minot 40 years ago. The goal of the fund is to provide scholarships to area youth through a permanent endowment fund held at the Minot Area Community Foundation. Scholarship applications are scored based upon participation in school activities, involvement in community service and charitable organizations, employment history and academic achievements.

Since its inception, the scholarship fund has awarded 857 scholarships totaling $775,000.
