Minot State’s Apodaca named to All-NSIC Baseball Team

Ricky Apodaca

Minot State designated hitter Ricky Apodaca led the way on the field all season for the Beaver baseball team, and Tuesday his play was honored by the coaches of the NSIC.

Apodaca was voted as an All-NSIC performer by the league’s coaches for the second time in his Beaver career as he was named to the All-NSIC 2nd Team as the league announced its All-NSIC performers and All-NSIC Defensive Team.

Leading the Beavers (15-34 overall) by hitting .422 (62-of-147) on the year, Apodaca was fifth in the NSIC in batting average. He added a Beaver-best 15 doubles, 2 triples, four home runs, and a team-high 43 RBIs for Minot State while also stealing 8 bases in 41 games.

He also pitched in one game working 2 1/3 innings, allowing 1 run and striking out 3 opposing hitters.

The honor was the second time Apodaca was named to the All-NSIC team as he was named to the All-NSIC 2nd Team following the 2022 season, as well.
