Lloyd Lochthowe

March 31, 1967-March 13, 2017

Lloyd James

Lochthowe, 49, Norwich,

ND, died Monday, March

13, 2017 from injuries

sustained in a farming ac-

cident.

Lloyd was born on

March 31, 1967, in Minot,

ND, the youngest child of

James Otto and Arlowene

Rose (Kocher) Lochthowe.

He was raised on the

Lochthowe farm located

near Norwich, ND. He at-

tended and graduated

from school in Surrey, ND

in 1985. While growing

up he farmed with his fa-

ther and raised feeder

pigs. At the age of sixteen

he began working on the

Lenton farm milking

cows. After graduating

from high school Lloyd

went to work as a farm

hand for the Thompson

Brothers.

On September 8, 1993,

Lloyd married Roxane

Beeter at St. Leo the Great

Catholic Church, Minot.

In the spring of 1994, the

couple moved to the fami-

ly farm near Norwich,

where their children were

raised.

He then worked for

Poynter Ag Supply and

Degleman Industries.

After being employed in

town for almost 10 years,

his love for farming

brought him back to being

a hired hand at the Lenton

farm from 2008 to

present.

The Lenton farm was a

familiar place. Lloyd had

been helping with the

planting and harvest sea-

son for many years.

Through the years the two

families – Lloyd’s family

and the Lentons’ – be-

came a secondary family

to each other.

Lloyd’s passions in life

were his family, friends

and farming. Lloyd loved

taking the family camping

and fishing in the sum-

mer. He enjoyed hunting

in the fall. He was a

member of Northern Mini

Racers (RC Club) since

1988. His love for RC Rac-

ing carried on to his sons,

Jason and Justin. He en-

joyed teaching them rac-

ing etiquette when they

were younger. Lloyd

loved the challenge of

competing with his sons

and other racers. Lloyd

enthusiastically enjoyed

traveling to compete out

of state, bringing his big-

gest fans, his family.

Lloyd and his family en-

joyed attending the dirt

track races throughout the

summer. He cherished at-

tending the school activi-

ties that his kids and

grandkids were involved

in.

There was nothing he

would not do for any-

body, and he would give

them the shirt off his back

if he had to. No matter

what the problem or situa-

tion was he would always

work on it until he found

a way to fix it.

Lloyd was an amazing

husband, father, grandfa-

ther, son, brother and

friend. God needed our

perfect farmer.
